Matcha Avocado Gut Healing Smoothie

Ingredients
  

  • 1/2 ripe avocado
  • 1 cup unsweetened almond milk or oat milk
  • 1 small banana frozen for creaminess
  • 1 tsp culinary-grade matcha powder
  • 1 tbsp chia seeds soaked for 5 mins, optional for extra fiber
  • 1/2 tsp fresh ginger grated
  • 1 tbsp honey or maple syrup to taste
  • 1/4 cup plain kefir or coconut yogurt for probiotics
  • Ice cubes optional, for chilled texture

Method
 

  1. Add all ingredients (avocado, milk, banana, matcha, chia seeds, ginger, sweetener, and kefir) into a high-speed blender.
  2. Blend on high until completely smooth and creamy, about 45–60 seconds.
  3. If too thick, add a splash more milk until desired consistency is reached.
  4. Taste and adjust sweetness if needed.
  5. Pour into a tall glass, add ice if desired, and enjoy immediately.

Notes

  • For maximum gut benefits, use refrigerated, unpasteurized kefir or coconut yogurt.
  • If you are sensitive to caffeine, use a decaf matcha powder or reduce to 1/2 tsp.
  • The chia seeds help thicken the smoothie; if you prefer a thinner drink, omit them.
  • Best consumed fresh; do not store for more than 2 hours to preserve the avocado's color.
  • You can substitute the banana with 1/4 cup of frozen mango for a lower-sugar option.
